OUR COMPOSERS

JEAN-BENOÎT DUNCkEL

valeriesonnierstudio

Jean-Benoît Dunckel is a musician, best known as a member of the duo AIR.
Jean-Benoît Dunckel has also composed music for films: ‘If the experience of Sofia Coppola's “The Virgin Suicides” led me to film music without deciding to do so, the other soundtracks of Air, as well as those that follow as a solo artist, help me to unlearn so that I can better open myself up to images. The recording studio is my home, and the encounters I have with people give me a polytechnic approach to create music. When I feel an affinity with other musicians, I like to venture into the co-production of electronic pop albums - everything is electronic these days (Tomorrow's World, Starwalker, Darkel) - and I even go as far as international live tours.
His contributions to AIR's legendary soundtracks :
Virgin Suicide, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, Quartier Lointain, Pioneer, Le Voyage dans la Lune...
Some of his solo score compositions:
‘Summer of Sangailé’ by Alanté Kavaïté, ‘Swagger’ by Olivier Babinet, ‘KO’ directed by Fabrice Gobert; series: 2 seasons of ‘Mytho’ by Fabrice Gobert, ‘Poissonsexe’ by Olivier Babinet, ‘Les sept vies de Léa’ directed by Charlotte Sanson, ‘Normale’ by Olivier Babinet.

CEDRIC AUBRUN / DRIXXXE

Unknown

After making his recording debut in the late 90s with the French hip hop group Triptik, Cédric Aubrun, aka Drixxxé, quickly established himself as one of France's leading beatmakers. In addition to his group's highly acclaimed albums Microphonorama and Tr-303, he has produced and remixed for artists as diverse as Yelle, Lomepal and The Rodeo, to name a few, and is behind an unclassifiable side project, McLuvin, combining vintage and futuristic sounds. Accompanied by his sidekick, the hilarious Gystere, this new group was born and in 2012 released an album on Fontana/Mercury entitled 'Animal'. From 2013, building on decades of diggin', he launched a series of mixtapes, the famous 'Sextapes', made up entirely of tracks from soundtracks from the golden age of 70s erotic cinema. These earned him articles in numerous national and international media, from Nova to Paper mag, Dangerous minds, Wax Poetics and Okayplayer.
In parallel with his recording career, Drixxxé has taken part in a number of soundtracks for theatrical films and documentaries, as well as for television and the web.
In 2020 he released his first solo album, conceived as the soundtrack to an imaginary film, a synthesis of all his accumulated experience and his most personal influences, daring to make a great leap between 70s pop, Erick Satie and electronic music...
